Hoai Niem Sans

Hoai Niem Sans is a typeface designed for Cong Ca Phe; the typeface was based on hand lettering signages in Saigon in 1975. In 1975, hand lettering was popular; most was on signages for different businesses, packaging, and products.

Cong ca phe is a Vietnamese coffee shop founded in 2007 by Linh Dung, she wanted to bring memories into her business, such as the rustic and original Vietnamese culture in the furniture, table cloths, uniforms, and all kinds of visual identity.

One thing about this typeface is the intentional characteristics in the typeface, such as chopped corners, condensed, and accents supplement the assigned adjectives. The purpose is to bring all kinds of rustics, hospitality, and adaptability of the Vietnamese people into Hoai Niem Sans.
